Description

So finally here is the map of where everything takes place: Underground Tokyo. It's pretty sloppy but you're gonna have to do with it. ;3

Underground Tokyo :
Underground Tokyo is located right underneath Tokyo and is connected to Tokyo's sewer system. It is a large mix and match of buildings. To newcomers like Sakura it's a labyrinth of tunnels and caves where you'd easily get lost. The city is vibrant, constantly buzzing with life and lights. There is little to no vegetation, only moss and other plants that grow in dark places are able to survive. The only animals, other than the dogs, that live in Underground Tokyo are fish and chicken bred by the Farmers.

You may notice on the map how the city seems divided in different sections. I like to call these the Districts. The top left is The Resistance district; Yuuna lives here along with her loyal advisors and the librarian ( only the richest live here and only Resistance members ). The top right is the Gate district ( or Entrance district blah ); the Entrance Gates and Waterfall are here and houses are medium sized. On the left is the Night district, this district is most alive during the night due to its night club and restaurants. Most houses here are 'apartment buildings'. To the right is the Day district with school and sports fields, mostly active during the day. Houses here are regular sized. The lowest district is the Poor district; houses are remarkably smaller and shaggier. The Rebellion caves are at the bottom, looking like a spider web of tunnels.

1. The Resistance Towers :
The Resistance Headquarters are located in a large white building. It's the highest building of Underground Tokyo towering over the entire city. It is almost entirely made out of expensive marble, decorated with shining crystals which stands out against the disorganized, mismatched houses of the rest of the Spark world. In the peak of the smallest tower, Yuuna's chambers are situated. She sleeps and eats here but she spends most of her days in the large circular hallway surrounded by her followers, asking for her advice and charity. This room is open to all Resistance members.

2. The Library:
This huge circular tower built out of marble is filled with books of all sizes, treating all kinds of subjects. The hundreds of bookshelves reach all the way up to the ceiling. It might be hard to find the book you are searching for but the Librarian will help you with that. He holds an important register where he keeps track of where each book is stacked. The Library also holds an important number of secret files containing maps to secret passages to the outside world, forbidden information about human history and other things that need to be kept safe from the ordinary Spark's eyes. Don't try searching for them, you won't find them. Only the Librarian knows where they are hidden.

3. The Fairground:
Underground Tokyo has its very own all year round Funfair with thrill rides throwing and spinning passengers around, pup's rides such as a merry-go-round, many game stalls ( featuring games of skill and strength ) and food booths selling hot dogs, cotton candy, candy apples, pretzels, lollipops, etc.. Families love to go here over the weekend. It's the perfect place for a fun day out and it's also very popular for dates. The Funfair sometimes holds special events such as New Year bonfires, Easter Egg hunts, Puppet shows, Christmas Tombolas, seasonal balls, etc.

4. The Gates :
The Gates are the entrance to Underground Tokyo. Outside the gates you will find yourself in Tokyo's sewer system. No Spark is to leave the Gates, unless they're Smugglers. It rarely happens that non-Smugglers manage to leave the Gates as they are constantly guarded. There are four portals at the Gates. Sparks who are passing the Gates need a passport to enter or leave these portals. Only Smugglers have these.

5. Waterfall and River:
The main water source of Underground Tokyo comes from the sewers. Sewer water flows down through an opening in the wall and ends as a waterfall in Underground City. It continues in a large stream that flows through the city. Thanks to this, most Sparks have access to running water in their homes. However, the water from the sewers needs to be purified before it can be used by the Sparks. There is a small distillation center close to the Gates where Water Elemental Sparks cleanse the dirty water with their ability. It's a nasty job but of vital importance to the city.

6. The Beauty Parlour:
Need a haircut? Makeover? Pawdicure? The Beauty Parlour is the place for all you girlies out there who want to look good. The Beauty Parlour only hires the best hairdressers and stylists in order to keep their customers absolutely satisfied in whatever request they may have. Whether you want a new wild hairdo or just a simple claw cut, The Beauty Parlour is the place to be. ( I felt like a lousy advertiser writing this omg )

7. The Rising Sun:
This is the fanciest place to go for a meal in Underground Tokyo. The Rising Sun's menu has a large selection of oriental (mostly Japanese) meals such as Sushi, Ramen, Tempura, Tepanyaki etc. It's pricy but the meals are prepared with a lot of care and the cooks use fresh products brought in by the Smugglers every morning. The restaurant's interior is inspired by ancient Japanese architecture; red and gold, illuminated by paper lanterns. Sparks who eat here sit on low tables, on soft cushions. There is a pond in the middle of the hallway where the fish swim freely before they are cooked.

8. The Movie Theater and Studios:
This pretty much speaks for itself. Sparks go here to see movies that haven't been released on the tv yet. There is only one theater hall because most of the building is used for filming movies. There are special Movie Studios located in the same building.

9. The Lotus:
The Lotus is Underground Tokyo's most reputed night club. Most of the younger Sparks hang out here at night to party, see performances or meet friends after a long day at work or school. The interior is mainly in purple shades, illuminated by many neon flashing lights. There is a bar where Waiter/Waitress Sparks serve alcohol, soda and fruit juices. A large stage is situated in the back of the club, surrounded by round tables. There is a cozy lounge corner with couches where couples can have an intimate drink or meal. There is even a small arcade with poker tables and a karaoke spot. In short, it's the perfect meeting spot for a fun night out!

10. The Marketplace:
In the center of Underground Tokyo, there is a large square. Many public buildings such as the school and church are located here but most importantly are the weekly markets held here. Every weekend, the square is bursting with life as Sparks from all over the city gather to buy goods from the merchants. Merchants install their goods in colorful tents all over the marketplace and call out to  attract customers.

11. Spark School:
The Spark School is for pups from 10 to 16 years old. The education system is very close to that of Japanese students. The only differences are the classes; Sparks are taught at an early age about their history ( and very little is taught about human history unless the teacher is particularly fascinated by this), basic maths (unless the Spark student wishes to pursue more complex math studies), magic (abilities and how to use them), japanese writing (kanji and kana), etc. The School is mixed and some pups are home-schooled but this is very rare as the Sparks have always had a strong sense of community.

12. The Sports Field:
The sports grounds mainly belong to the school but are open for any Spark who wishes to play a particular sport or just work out. There is a basketball field also used for soccer ( or football for you British blokes ;D ), running tracks, a swimming pool and stands all around it. Some Sparks also enjoy cheering on those playing on the fields.

13. The Hospital:
The ill and the wounded are brought here to be healed by the Medics. Pretty much self-explanatory.

14. The Orphanage:
The Orphanage is home to those poor souls who have lost their family and have nowhere else to go. Once the pups reach the age of 16 they are allowed to leave and start a life of their own. Some Sparks prefer to stay, whether it is to take care of the fellow orphans or simply for the free food and a roof above their head. The living conditions in the Orphanage however are hardly first class; the food is scarce, there is no running water and not many pups receive a decent education or none at all.

15. The Laboratory:
This large science lab also called The Greenhouse is where the Chemists go to work. Their goal is to introduce new products to Underground Tokyo like shampoo, medicines or even nutritional goods. They also try to grow new plants that are able to live underground. This is situated close to The Rebellion Caves and in the poorest district because toxic fumes often seep through the lab's chimneys and may infect nearby inhabitants.

16. The Rebellion Caves :
The Rebellion Headquarters are located in the deepest and darkest part of the city, where hardly any Spark dares to venture. The entrance to the caves is a large tunnel made out of iron plates and bars. The Rebellion headquarter looks like a dump and there are hardly any light sources except for a few torches or lanterns. Gunken's weakness to light makes him want to live in such a dark place. In the middle of this Cave is Gunken's Nest, a dark and smelly room decorated with human bones. The Rebellion's leader hardly ever comes out unless he has personal affairs to solve outside the Caves. Most Sparks don't like to linger here because of the darkness and the stench of rotting flesh.
